The Preferences Window: Logging Tab
To display the log preferences, select the Logging tab in the Preferences Window.
This is where you specify preferences for logging in Thinking Home. You can choose to log actions sent or reported by a controller. When you enable logging, you may also want to enable 24/7 operation for Thinking Home in the General preferences tab of the Preferences Window to ensure you don’t miss anything.
Log actions sent |
When enabled, Thinking Home logs actions sent to devices by any controller connected to the Mac. The activity could be due to manual operation from the Remote window, part of the Mac schedule or actions triggered by a motion sensor or handheld remote control. |
Log information “heard” |
When enabled, Thinking Home logs incoming information such as activity for a device. |
Include timestamp |
Includes the date and time of occurrence for each entry in the log file. |
Only save the latest 20 K of text |
Provides a limit for the size of the log file. If you do not provide a maximum file size, Thinking Home will limit the logs to 1 megabyte. You can set a larger or smaller value. When a new entry would increase the size of the file so that it is larger than the maximum size, old entries are discarded to honor the size limit. |
